SIMlink: live EFB ownship position in the full-flight simulator

On the line, crews fly with ownship position on their EFB on every flight. In the simulator, the EFB goes blind — and crews train in a cockpit that no longer matches the one they work in.

SIMlink closes that gap. A compact piece of loose equipment in the simulator bay reads the facility’s position feed and speaks the AID protocol the EFB apps already understand — FOMAX / ARINC 834 (ADIF) is implemented today. Crews join SIMlink’s Wi-Fi with the iPad they fly with, and ownship appears on Lido mPilot, JeppFD or Mission+ with nothing installed and nothing to configure.

For simulator training centres, it is a visible, marketable upgrade — closer-to-reality LVO taxi, situational awareness and EFB workflow in every session — with no simulator modification, no software change and no qualification concern: the device needs only Wi-Fi access to the position endpoint and USB-C power, and it is read-only by design. For airlines, it means crews train exactly the way they fly.

On the roadmap, delivered over the air: company profiles to preselect each operator’s AID interface, and Record · Replay · Report — every session’s positions logged, downloadable as KML for Google Earth replay and easy debrief reporting.
