No-ICE privacy policy
No-ICE collects no personal data. Your state only leaves your device when you share it with a nearby device.
Last updated: 27 September 2026
This policy covers the No-ICE app for iPhone, iPad and Mac (App Store) and for Android (Google Play), published by FEEL.AERO.
What we collect
Nothing. No-ICE has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It does not use the internet and has no servers: the FAA and Transport Canada hold-over time tables are built into the app, and all calculations run on the device. The Android version does not even request internet access.
We do not collect, receive, sell or share any personal data, and no third-party code in the app does either.
What stays on your device
To pick up where you left off, the app saves a few settings locally, on your device only:
- the selected data source (FAA or Transport Canada), outside air temperature and weather filters;
- the selected weather condition, fluid type, product, mix and flaps setting, and your three most recent fluids;
- the hold-over timer's start time and pause times.
This information never leaves the device through No-ICE unless you send it with Nearby Share (below), and deleting the app deletes it. On Android it is excluded from cloud backup and device transfer. On Apple devices it may be included in the device backups you make through iCloud or your computer, under Apple's control.
Nearby Share
Nearby Share sends your current state to other devices nearby that have No-ICE open, directly over Bluetooth. Nothing goes through the internet or through us, and there is no pairing or account.
- While No-ICE is open on screen, it makes itself visible to nearby devices running No-ICE and publishes a short record: a random identifier that changes every time the app starts, the device name, the platform, the app version and the edition of its tables. This lets nearby devices list it as a recipient.
- Only when you tap the share button, No-ICE sends the data source, weather condition and filters, outside air temperature, selected fluid and mix, flaps setting, timer state and your device name to the nearby devices running No-ICE.
- A receiving device always shows a summary first; nothing changes on it unless its user accepts. A declined share is discarded.
Bluetooth stops when No-ICE leaves the screen. Received shares are not stored beyond the state the user accepts. To keep your device name from being shown, rename the device in its settings, or deny No-ICE the Bluetooth permission (Nearby Share then stays off; the rest of the app works normally).
Permissions
- Notifications — to show the running hold-over timer on the lock screen (Live Activity and Dynamic Island on iPhone, an ongoing notification on Android).
- Foreground service (Android) — keeps that timer notification up to date while the app is in the background.
- Bluetooth ("Nearby devices" on Android) — for Nearby Share only.
- Location (Android 11 and earlier only) — Android requires it to scan for Bluetooth devices. No-ICE never reads your location.
No-ICE does not access your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or files.
App stores
No-ICE is distributed by Apple and Google, who process data related to your purchase, download and, if you have agreed to it in your device settings, anonymous crash and diagnostic reports. That processing is governed by their own privacy policies. When such anonymous reports are made available to us, we use them only to fix bugs.
Children
No-ICE is a professional aviation tool and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone.
